Microsoft is known for "Patch Tuesday", which occurs on the second Tuesday of each month. This is the standard release date for new Windows updates and patches. Of course, if there is a critical Zero-Day vulnerability or an issue that must be resolved immediately, Microsoft will release updates out-of-band when necessary. Businesses should have a documented Patch Management Procedure and Policy. As part of that, Windows updates should be applied to all systems within 30 days of release to meet the minimum standard recommended by most Cyber Frameworks.
